HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU
With 26 successful series already under its belt, the hit satirical news quiz is a veteran of the small screen and certainly doesn't need any introduction. Tonight the show is back with the first episode of the 27th series, giving us more banter, wisecracks, verbal side-swipes and moments of the pure surreal. Th two teams captained by Paul Merton and Ian Hislop (below), go head to head again tonight for more competitive repartee and witty banter - all at the expense of celebrities and politicians in the headlines.
CORONATION STREET
It's Gail's birthday and the family gather for a surprise portrait. But the celebrations turn sour when the birthday girl questions how David could afford to buy her such an expensive present. Meanwhile, Sarah could learn from her mother's suspicious nature - she is smiling ear-to-ear as she proudly shows off her new engagement ring, unaware that Todd is having a gay affair. Elsewhere, Kevin understandably becomes even more irritated with Sally as she goes for the medal for world's most pushy mum.
FRIENDS
When it comes to hen nights, people have different ideas of what makes a good night out. Some argue alcohol is essential and then there are those who think 'hens' can't have a good time without screaming at a gorgeous man while he takes he clothes off. Monica and Rachel are two such girls and set about booking a male stripogram for Phoebe's last night of singleom. When a pint-sized stripper, played by Danny DeVito, turns up in a cop outfit complete with handcuffs, the girls get a lot less than they bargained for.
DISTRACTION
Contestants on this originally named gameshow Distraction are, wait for it... distracted, while they attempt to answer brain-teasing general knowledge questions. Their physical and mental endurance are pushed to the limit by hellish and sometimes painful challenges, which aren't for the faint-hearted. Hosted by Jimmy Carr (right), the show bears witness to the extreme lengths some people will go to for five seconds of fame - or far more importantly cash prizes. Those with all but the shortest of attention spans should manage it - just about.
